Jumeirah Beach is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful places in Dubai. It is partly due to the beach and the hotel nearby. The beach was once a major fishing and pearl farming port. Since then, the city has drastically changed, and the beach is now a posh residential and commercial area with frequent visits from elite families and tourists.
Jumeirah Beach is a public opened place and receives thousands of visitors each day. You can sit, relax, and bath under the bright sun on this exotic beach. Other than this, there are a few interesting things you can do at Jumeirah Beach.
Water Sports –
The Jumeirah Beach stretches for more than seven kilometres along the Arabian Gulf. This idyllic setting makes the beach a perfect place to lose yourself for a few hours. If you are not in the mood to relax, then you can always opt for water sports. The warm azure water and white sandy beach make sailing, swimming, water skiing, sunbathing, banana boat riding, scuba diving, windsurfing, parascending, and jet skiing even better.
Just like Baywatch, there are lifeguards patrolling the beach and keeping an eye on everyone. Their only priority is to keep everyone safe from danger. So, your safety is in professional hands. To protect yourself from the mighty sun, you need to apply sunscreen, war hat, sunglasses, etc.
World-Class Attractions:
Jumeirah Beach is home to some world-class attractions. The most popular is the Burj AI Arab – A 7-star hotel and often referred to as the 8th Wonder of the World. Then there is the Grand Jumeirah Mosque which is not only known for its mesmerizing architecture but also for being one of the few open-minded mosques in the world. The mosque has a tour guide which helps you dive into Emirati culture and religious belief.
Last but not least is Palm Jumeirah – a man-made palm-shaped island. The island is a freak, and its beauty is enhanced by luxurious villas, hotels, such as Palm Atlantis. Other than this, there are a lot of opulent and affordable hotels, spas in the area.
Food and Nightlife:
No guide is complete without a mention of delicious food. Jumeirah beach is sure not to disappoint you in that regard. There are a lot of bars and restaurants around the beach that will serve any cuisine you want to dip your tongue in. Whether it is traditional Arabic dishes, Chinese, Italian, continental, European treats, or anything else.
If you are a creature of the night, then let me tell you the nightlife in Jumeirah is chic, exuberant and glittery. There are a lot of bars, pubs and nightclubs to make your evening alive with every passing second. There are more than enough places to house everyone.
Kids Friendly activities:
There are a few parks around the beach with specialized playing areas to keep the little ones entertained throughout the day. One such is the Jumeirah Beach Park which is also a great venue for a family picnic. The park also offers Wild Wadi water park which has a plethora of thrilling rides and slides for people of all age. Then there is Umm Suqueim Park where the kids can play leisure games, and the facilities resemble European parks.
The Beach is accessible to all:
Jumeirah Beach is just at a walking distance from the city centre, and you can even walk through Jumeirah Road. Other transport includes metro, bus and coach services which make for more easy access to the beach. Even the Dubai International Airport is 30 Km away from the beach.
The beach is open on all seven days, and the beach opens at 7:30 in the morning and lasts till 10 in the evening. The beach is open till 11 pm only during Thursday and Friday. Monday has been declared as Ladies and Kids days. So, men are only after 5;30 on Monday. There is no entry fee during any day or time at the beach.
Best Time to visit the beach?
The best time is during summers as the sun is shining and all the activities around the beach are opened throughout the day. The good thing is that summer lasts long in Dubai. So, you can come and enjoy Jumeirah beach and spend quality time with your family and friends.
